Improve Your Self-esteem No Matter What Your Weight
The CD is the 2nd edition book and workbook. The CD allows you to download both books. It has the advantage of being able to make several copies of the worksheets you most want to use. It is my suggestion that you download the CD (2 books) and then place them in a 3 ring binder to easily work on those issues you desire. Some people like to work on the exercises with others as a group or online. You may join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/youaremorethanwhatyouweigh to work with others online. About the Author
Professional:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and former university professor. I have a masters in counseling, masters in Child Development, and have doctorate in counseling, minus my dissertation. I was a professor at the University of Tennessee, University of Georgia, Caifornia State University at Los Angeles, and Red Rocks Community College. I have worked as a therapist in private practice, specializing in eating disorders. I was past president of Colorado Eating Disorder Professionals. I led eating disorder groups for ten years, which helped me to get the information for this book. I have presented workshops and keynote addresses on eating disorders throughout the country. I also hostedmy own talk radio show on eating disorders. I did get a call to talk about my book on the Oprah show, but declined because I had few copies of the 1st edition. By the time the 2nd edition came out, the show was no longer interested. (A major blunder on my part to not go on when asked.)
Personal:
When I was a young adult, I struggled with anorexia. I never was bulimic because in my younger age, there was no mention of bulimia. Had I known about purging, I am quite certain I would have engaged in it, as I was desperate. However, most of my life, I have struggled with weight issues. I have gone to every weight program available. I am happy to say that I think and hope that I now have a handle on my weight, body image, and eating. It was when I made the shifts in my thinking and behaviors mentioned in this book, that I could put this problem to rest.
